Honest thoughts on life in St. Johnsville

Alright, Average temperature is around 46--F, so expect cold winters. The city has invested a lot in new development. Has anyone dealt with this?

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Westside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The dating scene is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cultural scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but I love the pace of life here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Minneapolis it's challenging.
