Most overrated things about St. Louis

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and You can expect to pay around $865 for rent here. Homes are going for about $115,700 on average. The unemployment rate is 1.1%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $115,700, which is actually reasonable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Diverse community
- Easy commute
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Rising rent prices
- Not enough green space
Am I overthinking this? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Pittsburgh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The school system is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
