Best neighborhoods in St. Louis for families?

We have two kids (5 and 6) and are looking for a family-friendly neighborhood in St. Louis. Budget is around $978/month for rent. We prioritize good schools and safety. Any recommendations?

Also, are there good parks and activities for kids in the area?

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.
