Rent prices in St. Louis getting crazy

Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in St. Louis? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $978 for a studio which feels okay for the area.

Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

Rent tip: look for places in January-February. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Traffic is the worst part honestly. But if you live near work it's fine.

I work in tech and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.

Check out the Old Town area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

If you can afford it, Midtown is the best place to live. Period.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.

Coming from Miami, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Cedar Hills and Highland Park are perfectly safe.
