Just moved to St. Louis Park, any tips?

Household incomes average around $100,250 in St. Louis Park. Homes are going for about $371,600 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. What are your go-to spots? The suburbs are where most families end up.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Maple Ridge. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in legal. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Lakewood for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- The traffic scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Westside. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in consulting. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Eastside for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The cultural scene scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 11 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
