Been meaning to ask this. You can expect to pay around $1,589 for rent here. Median household income is $100,250, which feels pretty solid for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do?

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's better than expected.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely solid and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Downtown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The weather scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Hope this helps!.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The safety is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..
