OK so Poverty rate is 19.7%, which is higher than I expected. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I overthinking this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 7 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
