Studio apartments in St. Marys -options?

Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -St. Marys sits at 331.1 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.6%, which is about average. Median household income is $67,271, which feels about average for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Plenty of shopping options
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
Am I overthinking this? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Tampa about 7 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are developing, gas is improving.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Feel free to reach out with questions..
