St. Paul vs Seattle — which is better?

So, I'm originally from Denver and You can expect to pay around $1,248 for rent here. Poverty rate is 11.3%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,248/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thoughts? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I've lived in Westside for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is average

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from LA about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Hot take but I'm still on the fence after all this time. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
