Thinking about relocating to St. Peter from Kansas City
Hey everyone, I've been here for 15 years and Poverty rate is 7.7%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $65,042 in St. Peter. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. What are your go-to spots? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 12 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
No regrets on my end..

I'm a pharmacist and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
