OK so Is this normal for St. Peters? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 14 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The nightlife scene is solid
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..
