Job market in St. Peters for tech?

Hi all, Household incomes average around $89,827 in St. Peters. Median household income is $89,827, which feels pretty solid for the area. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? Thanks for reading. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in real estate here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Fairview for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Affordable housing options
- The walkability scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much developing but now it's average.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a lawyer who relocated here from LA about 10 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 45, moved here 4 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Old Town and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally tough - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The school system situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Old Town: Great for couples. decent vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt decent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
