Things that make St. Petersburg unique

Anyone else feel this way? I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $73,118, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 7.3%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Seattle about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it's improved dramatically in recent years. The cultural scene is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..
