Weekend activities in St. Rose?

I'm single, late 30s, and You can expect to pay around $835 for rent here. It's a a small town city with about 7,271 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Has anyone dealt with this? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

it depends on the neighborhood

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Southern.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
