I work in consulting here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in East area are improving. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Houston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong job market in several industries
Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Charlotte about 5 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
