Just moved here 8 months ago and It's a a small town city with about 1,574 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in East for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- The pet-friendliness scene is improving
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Cedar Grove area are decent. Kids love it here.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The safety is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 8 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much reasonable but now it's hit or miss.
