Working in Stanton -salaries realistic?

First post here. The median home value here is around $89,000, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $89,000 on average. Median household income is $45,714, which feels on the lower side for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What do you all think? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.

I've been here 8 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 31, moved here 14 years ago from Tampa. I've lived in Fairview and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The walkability situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for young professionals. improving vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Tampa, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $40K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.

I've lived in Eastside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The pet-friendliness scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Cedar Grove area are tough. Kids love it here.
