Moving to Star City -what should I know?

Hey, Been living here since 2022. With a population of 2,234, Star City is a small town. The median home value here is around $118,500, which is actually reasonable. Crime rate is something to consider -Star City sits at 826.0 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 0.9%, which is pretty low. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely average and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (South) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
