Is Statesboro walkable?

So, Average temperature is around 66--F, so the weather is moderate. The unemployment rate is 5.4%, which is about average. Median household income is $42,884, which feels on the lower side for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Old Town. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Oak Park for 14 years. Moved from Houston for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is underrated. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. marketing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is challenging - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Oak Park schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Limited entertainment options. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 7/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
