Job hunting in Statesville -tips?
Alright, I'm single, late 20s, and Poverty rate is 15.0%, which is around average. The unemployment rate is 4.8%, which is about average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up.
