OK so I'm single, late 20s, and The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Thoughts? Appreciate any input. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely surprisingly good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a pharmacist and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
