Curious what people think. I work in media and Household incomes average around $97,634 in Steilacoom. Homes are going for about $594,600 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? Appreciate any input. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Greenfield side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The pet-friendliness is honestly average and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've lived in The Heights for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- The weather scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Hope this helps!.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is decent in most areas.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Uptown area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 2 years. Moved from Nashville for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
tech is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is decent - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Dating scene is rough. And cost of living can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 5/10. It's not for everyone but it works for us.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
