Hey folks, Poverty rate is 8.2%, which is pretty low. It's a a mid-size city city with about 133K people. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do?

Moved here from Denver about 1 years ago. it's been a really good experience overall. Still getting used to walkability but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely improving and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Oak Park) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
