Hi all, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $508,400 on average. Poverty rate is 7.5%, which is pretty low. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Appreciate any input.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Meadowbrook. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The housing market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
