Anyone regret moving to Stockton?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but The unemployment rate is 4.9%, which is about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it exceeded my expectations. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Riverside. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in education. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Hope this helps!.

I've lived in Highland for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Lots of new development happening
- The outdoor recreation scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 3 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Oak Park. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
