Job hunting in Stockton — tips?

OK so Just moved here 15 months ago and Poverty rate is 12.4%, which is around average. Household incomes average around $76,851 in Stockton. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Am I wrong here? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
