Starting a business in Stockton?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a teacher here and Average temperature is around 61°F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,495/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. Thoughts? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 1 years. Moved from LA for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. construction is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I'm still on the fence after all this time. The outdoor scene is pretty good - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Limited high-paying job options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in West area are better than expected. Kids love it here.
