Thinking about relocating to Stockton from Chicago

Alright, I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $76,851, which feels about average for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The pet-friendliness is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Happy to answer more specific questions..

Moved here from San Francisco about 5 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to cultural scene but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2016 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
