Remote worker thinking about Stonecrest

My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $223,100, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 59,917, Stonecrest is a smaller city. It's a a smaller city city with about 59,917 people. The unemployment rate is 5.3%, which is about average. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Is this normal for Stonecrest? Appreciate any input. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The housing market is solid compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's tough for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Nashville about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to San Diego it's better than expected.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in West. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
