Rent vs buy in Stonecrest -what makes sense?

Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 59,917 people. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts?

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Meadowbrook. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Hope this helps!.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Boston it's surprisingly good.
