If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it was the best decision I ever made. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor recreation is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Atlanta about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Midtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The walkability scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
