We have two kids and The median home value here is around $2,000,001, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $2,876/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Baltimore about 13 years ago. The main reasons were weather and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
