My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Downtown for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Nashville about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is decent in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2023 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

The food scene here is improving. Tons of great Italian places. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
