Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is outdoor recreation. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much established but now it's challenging.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the Meadowbrook side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (North) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Meadowbrook for 11 years. Moved from Charlotte for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Meadowbrook schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Homeless population growing downtown. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in North for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is solid

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Winters are long and cold

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for retirees. No regrets on my end..
