Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely solid and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (South) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Eastside for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- The nightlife scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in consulting. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Hope this helps!.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- The public transit scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in The Heights area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.
