Hey, My partner and I are With a population of 25,285, Sugar Hill is a smaller city. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Thoughts? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in The Heights. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Riverside for 5 years. Moved from Tampa for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is excellent. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts.
**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are average. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Nightlife is limited. And cost of living can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The public transit is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 1 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Chicago it's tough.
