Should I move to Sugar Hill or stay in Portland?

Born and raised here. With a population of 25,285, Sugar Hill is a smaller city. Rent is about $1,738/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 9 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Good luck with whatever you decide..
