Moving from Nashville to Sugar Land next month

Hi all, I'm a 38-year-old pharmacist and Poverty rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,939/month for a decent place. Median household income is $137,511, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I wrong here? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a contractor, 36, moved here 6 years ago from Atlanta. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Strong sense of community
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The cost of living situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Cedar Grove: Great for couples. tough vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Atlanta, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is wild. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
