Moving to Sugar Land -what should I know?

Hey everyone, Military spouse here. It's a a mid-size city city with about 110K people. Homes are going for about $406,600 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,939 for rent here. Average temperature is around 72--F, so it's warm year-round. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want traffic, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
