Random thought, I'm a remote worker and It's a a small town city with about 12,920 people. With a population of 12,920, Sugarland Run is a small town. Rent is about $2,345/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Should I be concerned? Cheers. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's hit or miss for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Houston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. No regrets on my end..

I'm a writer and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. The community is improving and there's always something going on.
