How much do you pay for rent in Sugarmill Woods?

OK so My family moved here when I was a kid. The unemployment rate is 1.2%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Sugarmill Woods sits at 570.8 per 100K. Homes are going for about $289,100 on average. Household incomes average around $69,831 in Sugarmill Woods. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development.

I've lived in Sunset for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- The cultural scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Springfield. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in tech. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 26, moved here 8 years ago from New York. I've lived in Highland and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good internet infrastructure
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not very walkable outside downtown
2. Can feel isolated
3. The weather situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for families. improving vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $60K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
It's not for everyone but it works for us.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
