Best areas to explore in Suitland?

So, Rent is about $1,684/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Suitland sits at 332.7 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Anyone in a similar situation? Thanks! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is improving in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Nashville about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I have mixed feelings honestly. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
