Working in Summerville -salaries realistic?
Hey folks, The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from LA about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are reasonable, gas is average.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
