Crime rate is something to consider -Summit sits at 481.9 per 100K. Poverty rate is 10.7%, which is around average. With a population of 10,896, Summit is a small town. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Is this normal for Summit? The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
