Summit vs San Francisco -which is better?

Hello, I grew up here but left for a while. Median household income is $199,107, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Appreciate any input. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value safety, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 11 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
