Should I move to Summit View or stay in Tampa?

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and Rent is about $1,813/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 6.3%, which is pretty low. You can expect to pay around $1,813 for rent here. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Median household income is $103,910, which feels pretty solid for the area. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Does this match your experience? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a project manager who relocated here from Atlanta about 10 years ago. The main reasons were weather and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is improving.

Socially, I love the pace of life here. Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want job market, then yeah this place is great. But if community vibe matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2022 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
