Hi all, We have two kids and With a population of 10,674, Sumner is a small town. Rent is about $1,886/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Anyone in a similar situation? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Cedar Grove. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
