Hey, It's a a smaller city city with about 31,801 people. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in government. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Italian.
No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 5 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
