Crime rate is something to consider -Sun City Center sits at 582.4 per 100K. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's not perfect but it works for me. Internet is decent in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.

I've lived in Riverside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
- The safety scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for couples. Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.
I've been here 13 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
