Biggest downsides of living in Sunbury?

Anyone else feel this way? The median home value here is around $98,000, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. Crime rate is something to consider -Sunbury sits at 171.1 per 100K. Poverty rate is 15.6%, which is higher than I expected. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Growing food scene
- Active local events

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Poor road conditions
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Not enough green space
Thanks for reading. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Dallas about 4 years ago. The main reasons were work and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
